| In the period photo on the left a train hauled by a modern diesel locomotive has just finished to load the blocks of marble to be carried down to the plain. Behind the train there is the big bridge-crane which can be seen faithfully reproduced in the images of the plastic. The reconstruction has been made in wood on the base of the photos and the copies of the projects. At present the large square of Fantiscritti is one of the most important attractions of the visit to the marble quarries. A confortable parking area has been obtained here for touristic coaches amd cars. In the large square every Summer they organize concerts and important performances which can avail themselves of the wonderful background of the Apuan Alps and the marble quarries. | |||||||||
